Good to know

What does a central vacuum system include?

A central vacuum uses a power unit, a collection container or filter, tubing, inlets, controls, a hose, and cleaning tools. Vac Shack installs and services these components across the St. Louis area. We check how the parts work together when planning an installation or diagnosing a fault.

Repair and diagnosis

Weak suction can start anywhere in the system

A full bag, dirty filter, blocked hose, leaking inlet, or tubing clog can all reduce suction. The power unit is one part of the check.

We inspect the system before discussing a repair or replacement. Bring the brand and model number when you call.

  • Bag or filter condition
  • Hose and inlet airflow
  • Controls and low-voltage wiring
  • Tubing leaks and blockages

Questions about central vacuums

Can you service a brand you did not install?

Yes. We service all central vacuum brands, including older systems. Call with the brand, model, and problem so we can discuss repair options and parts availability.

Can you install a central vacuum in an existing house?

Many existing homes have a suitable route through a basement, attic, crawlspace, closet, or unfinished area. We check access and inlet locations before explaining what the installation needs.

What brands do you sell?

We are an authorized VACUFLO and MD dealer. We sell and install both brands and can help you compare power units, hoses, inlets, and attachments for your home.
